Uses Unicode combining strikethrough (U+0336). Renders correctly on most modern platforms; older Android renderers and some screen readers may display or announce it inconsistently.

How to Use This Text Tool

  1. Paste your text into the input field.
  2. The strikethrough version appears in the output panel as you type.
  3. Click Copy and paste it into any social or chat app.

What Is a Strikethrough Text?

HTML's <s> and Markdown's ~~strike~~ only work in environments that parse markup. The Unicode combining strikethrough (U+0336) instead modifies each character directly, so the strikethrough survives a copy-paste into Twitter, Discord, Instagram bios, plain-text emails and any field that just stores Unicode.

Use it sparingly for emphasis: a deleted thought, a sarcastic correction, a "was X, now Y" edit. Note that some older Android renderers and screen readers may not display or announce the strikethrough cleanly, so avoid relying on it for critical information.

The transform runs in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Unicode strikethrough work?
Each character is followed by a combining strikethrough overlay (U+0336). Unlike HTML <s>, this is a real character sequence that works in any plain-text field.
Does it work everywhere?
Most modern apps and platforms support it — Twitter, Discord, Instagram, Facebook, plain email. Some older systems and screen readers may render or read it unexpectedly.
Strikethrough vs HTML?
HTML <s> or <del> only works inside web pages. Unicode strikethrough works in any text field — social media bios, chat messages, plain-text notes, and more.
