Free Online URL QR Code Generator
A URL QR code encodes a web address as a scannable 2D barcode so a phone camera opens the page in one tap.
Your data is processed entirely in your browser and never sent to any server.
How to Use This QR Tool
- Paste or type the URL into the input field.
- We validate the format and add `https://` if you skipped the scheme.
- Pick a size from the size selector.
- Click Download PNG or Download SVG to save the code.
What Is an URL QR Code?
URL is the most common QR payload — menus, posters, packaging inserts, business cards, and trade-show booths all use them. Shorter URLs make smaller, more scannable codes. If your link is long, run it through a URL shortener first; once a URL exceeds ~80 characters the QR version climbs and the symbol gets denser.
This tool validates the URL format (with or without a protocol), auto-prepends `https://` if you skipped the scheme, and encodes the result locally with a pure-JavaScript encoder. Nothing is sent to a server — the link you encode never leaves your browser.
Before mass-printing, always test the printed code from a phone in the conditions it'll be scanned (bad lighting, sharp angle, glossy paper). A test save often catches a missing scheme or a typo before the print run.
