What Is a QR Code Reader?
Phones decode QR codes natively in the camera app, but on a desktop or laptop you usually need a dedicated reader. Uploading a screenshot or pointing the webcam is the fastest path.
This reader uses the browser's image-decoding APIs and getUserMedia for the webcam — nothing is uploaded to a server, and the decoded payload is shown in plain view. URLs are auto-linked so you can click through; arbitrary text is shown with a one-click Copy button.
Camera scanning needs HTTPS and your permission to access the webcam. If decoding fails, increase the image resolution or move the QR code into better light — most failures are scan-quality issues rather than bad codes.
