What Is a JPG to PDF?

Turning images into a PDF is the easiest way to bundle photos, scans or screenshots into one shareable, printable document. The PDF format (ISO 32000) can embed JPEG and PNG image data directly, so the pictures keep their original pixels rather than being re-compressed when added to the page.

This tool creates a new PDF with pdf-lib and, for each image you add, makes a page exactly the size of that image and draws the picture to fill it. JPEGs are embedded with embedJpg and PNGs with embedPng, preserving transparency for PNGs. You can add several images, reorder them, and remove any you do not want before building the file, so the final page order is entirely under your control.

WebP, GIF and other formats are not directly embeddable in PDF, so convert them to PNG or JPG first. Because the images are embedded at their original resolution, large photos produce a large PDF — compress them beforehand if size matters. All processing is local; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

What image formats are supported?
JPG and PNG, the two formats the PDF standard can embed directly. Convert WebP or GIF to PNG first if needed.
Can I control the order of images?
Yes. Reorder the selected images before creating the PDF; each appears on its own page in that order.
Will large photos make a huge PDF?
Images are embedded at their original resolution, so the PDF size tracks the source images. Compress photos first for a smaller file.
