Free Online Anagram Solver
An anagram solver takes your letters and finds every valid word — full anagrams that use all the letters plus shorter sub-words — from a built-in common-word list.
Your data is processed entirely in your browser and never sent to any server.
How to Use This Tool
- Type the letters you have into the input box.
- Set a minimum word length to filter out very short results.
- Tick 'Use all letters only' if you want true full anagrams rather than sub-words.
- Browse the results, sorted longest first, with full anagrams highlighted at the top.
What Is an Anagram Solver?
An anagram rearranges all the letters of a word or phrase to form a new one: 'listen' becomes 'silent', 'the eyes' becomes 'they see'. Anagram solving is the engine behind Scrabble, Words With Friends, crossword clues and many word puzzles, where you hold a rack of letters and need to know what they can spell.
This tool checks each word in its dictionary against your letters using a letter-frequency comparison: a word qualifies if, for every letter it needs, you hold at least that many. That finds both true anagrams (words that use every letter you entered) and sub-words (valid words that use only some of your letters), which is exactly what you want for a Scrabble rack where you rarely play all seven tiles. Results are sorted longest-first, and you can filter by minimum length or restrict to full anagrams only.
The built-in list holds a few thousand common English words, so it loads instantly and works offline, but it deliberately excludes rare, archaic and highly technical words to keep the bundle small — so an official tournament dictionary will know words this tool does not. For everyday games, naming and puzzles it covers the vast majority of useful answers. Nothing you type is uploaded; all matching happens in your browser.
