Free Online Countdown Timer Tool

1. Pick a future date and time using the datetime picker.
2. Watch the live days, hours, minutes and seconds count down once per second.
3. Glance at the browser tab title to read remaining time without switching tabs.
4. Edit the target field at any moment to switch to a different deadline.

Countdowns make deadlines feel real: a number you can watch shrink turns abstract "in three weeks" into something visceral. Product launches, exam dates, weddings, holidays, retirement, contract end dates and birthdays are all common targets.

This countdown updates once per second using a requestAnimationFrame-driven loop and writes the remaining time into the browser tab title, so you can see how much is left even when the tab is in the background. Pin the tab and you have a persistent dashboard widget; minimise the window and the title still ticks. The arithmetic is purely client-side — your target date never leaves your device.

When the target moment passes, the display switches to a finished state. There's no need to stop or reset; just edit the target field to start counting to a new date.
