Free Online Image Blur Tool

Gaussian blur averages each pixel with its neighbours using a bell-curve weighting, producing the smooth, natural softening you see in portrait backgrounds. The radius controls how far that averaging reaches: a small radius gently softens, while a large one dissolves fine detail entirely.

This tool applies the blur through the canvas filter property, the same engine browsers use for CSS filters, then exports the result as a fresh PNG at the original dimensions. A live slider lets you dial the radius from 0 to 50 pixels and see the effect immediately.

Light blur is a styling choice; heavy blur is a privacy tool for hiding faces, signs, or screens. Note that blur can sometimes be partially reversed by software, so for truly sensitive data pixelation is the safer choice. Everything is processed locally in your browser.
