32 Fahrenheit
Formula: °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32

How to Use This Converter

  1. Type a reading into any one of the four temperature fields.
  2. The other three fields recalculate at the same time.
  3. Check the formula shown under each field to verify the conversion.

What Is a Temperature Converter?

Temperature scales differ in two ways: step size and zero offset. Celsius pins 0 to the freezing point of water; Fahrenheit pins 32 to the same point; Kelvin pins 0 to absolute zero; Rankine pins 0 to absolute zero but uses Fahrenheit-sized degrees. The conversions are affine: F = C × 9/5 + 32, K = C + 273.15, R = F + 459.67.

Meteorologists, cooks following a recipe from another country, lab technicians reading sensor outputs and HVAC installers all cross between scales. Water freezes at 0 C / 32 F / 273.15 K, boils at 100 C / 212 F / 373.15 K, and normal body temperature sits at 37 C / 98.6 F / 310.15 K.

Type into any field and the other three update at the same time. The exact formula used for each pair is shown directly under the inputs so the maths is transparent.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 0°C in Fahrenheit?
0°C = 32°F. Water freezes at 32°F and boils at 212°F.
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
F = (C × 9/5) + 32. Or use our converter for instant results.
What about Kelvin?
K = C + 273.15. Kelvin has no degree symbol; 0 K is absolute zero.
